Activities and programs of the youth centre

End of the month show
    This program comes up on the last Sunday of every month whereby individual or groups in the youth centre are allowed to present either a drama or song presentations or even jokes for the listening pleasure of the audience. the time is from 4-6pm in the evening

Cine Forum
     Cinema forum as the name implies is a period whereby educative films are being watched in the youth centre. The program comes up on every third Friday of the month. the time is from 4-6pm in the evening.

Youth Talk
     the youth talk is another educative forum for the youth. It is organized in a debate form but marks or rewards are not given to the speakers. They only debate issues that are relevant to the youth matters. The topic to be discussed is always out at least 3days before the talk so that the youth can be prepared. the slogan for this program is "youth talk, let's talk the issue" the time is from 4-6pm in the evening.

Cultural Concert
      The cultural concert is being organized by the cultural groups in the youth centre. It comes up every year around April and it's always a story to tell because the broadcasting stations can't afford to miss the coverage. The concert features drama and cultural dance presentation. And al the cultural groups that are being invited form different states are expected to present one of the two performances.

Christmas Show
      The Christmas show is an annual program of the youth centre that comes up on the 22 nd and 23rd in the month of December.

Youth Award Day
      This program is also an annual program that comes up in the month of December. Youth that actively participated in the centre's activity with dedication and devotion are appreciated and honoured.

Children Holiday Camp
      Is a youth centre program that is organized for the children in the month of august and always lasts for like 3weeks. After the camp the children are given gifts and prizes.

SYM
     the Salesian youth movement is a movement that involves the coming together of youth who are into one or two groups from different communities of Don Bosco in Nigeria. It is done in form of a camp that lasts for like three-four days.

Spelling Competition
      This competition is also an annual program which comes up every 17 th of Nov. it involves all the secondary schools in Oyo state with 8participants and two representatives each. After series of testing the vocabulary ability of each student, the final winner is awarded with a plague and 10,000naira.

Friends' Day
      This program is done on every February 14 of the year in celebrating the saint valentine feast. It is also a celebration of love for the centre. Individual is expected to buy a gift and exchanged with somebody else you might have pick his or her name. it is always full of fun and excitement.

Oratory Day
      The oratory day is celebrated in the entire Salesian house all over the world. It is done in remembrance of the day the oratory started on 8thof Dec, 1841. The first member then was Bartholomew Garelli.

Vocabulary Development Program
      This program is done in the youth centre immediately the oratory ends. The aim is just to help the youth build their vocabulary standard.

Don Bosco Feast
      The feast of Saint Don Bosco is remembered on every 31st of January. It is also celebrated in the entire Salesian house all over the world.

      The anniversary of the youth centre is on the 8th of October every year.

Youth Hour of Praise
      This program comes up every first Sunday of the month. It is a moment for praising and worshiping God. The time is from 4-6pm in the evening.

60secs
      The 60secs program is more or less like "who wants to be a millionaire". It comes up every last Friday of the month. When you answer a particular question correctly, you will be invited to the hot seat and Lots of prizes are won during the course of this program and it's always very interesting and fun. the time is from 4-6pm in the evening.

Personality Show
      This show is commonly known as "who is who" it's a program whereby youth get to know each other the more. It comes up every third Friday of the month. One of the youth will be invited as the guest and the audience will be allowed to ask him or her many questions as possible without hesitation, he or she will have to answer. The slogan for this show is "who is who, let's know you". the time is from 4-6pm in the evening.

Bible Course
      The bible course up every Friday when there is no special event. It is aimed to help the youth develop themselves spiritually and also to help them understand what the words of God means thereby drawing them closer to him. the time is from 4-6pm in the evening.

Counseling Unit
      In the youth centre, we have a counselor who is always around from 9:00 in the morning till around 4:30 in the evening to help youth with their different problems through counseling and therapy. She is a psychologist by profession therefore won't find it very difficult in handling youth with any psychological problem whatsoever.
